President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has publicly addressed his working relationship with Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, acknowledging internal disagreements while reaffirming, for now, his confidence in the head of government. However, the president also made it clear that such confidence is not unconditional. He warned that should he determine Sonko is no longer fit to serve, a replacement would be appointed without hesitation.
