Guinea/President Mamadi Doumbouya announced the dissolution of the existing government led by Dr. Bernard Goumou

President Mamadi Doumbouya announced the dissolution of the existing government led by Dr. Bernard Goumou. This decision, taken this Monday, February 19, 2024, comes in a context marked by persistent social and political crises. The outgoing government was judged incapable of dealing with it effectively. 

The decree was read on RTG by General Amara Camara and broadcast on the communication channels of the presidency. The press release specifies that the management of current affairs will be ensured by the directors of cabinets, the Secretaries General and the Deputy Secretaries General, until the establishment of the new government. 

According to the decree, the ministers had their assets frozen, their bank accounts blocked, their passports,
their official vehicles and their bodyguards withdrawn. 

After the decree dissolving the government, several measures were taken against the now former ministers. It is :

1️⃣ Return of service and escort vehicles to the government garage without delay

2️⃣ Freezing bank accounts

3️⃣ Return of all travel documents to the general secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic

4️⃣ Delivery of stamps to designated temporary workers

5️⃣ Demobilization of all bodyguards and aides-de-camp

6️⃣ The High Commander of the gendarmerie and the Director General of the Police are responsible for taking all measures to put buffers in all departments until temporary workers are taken over completely

7️⃣ All temporary workers are invited to a working session on Tuesday February 20, 2024, at 9 a.m. in the meeting room of the general secretariat of the presidency.
